Festival Of Japan - On stand Demos at Stitching, Sewing & Hobbycrafts

Festival Of Japan - On stand Demos

10.30am. Demo. The  Art of Japanese Gift Wrapping. USing fabric will will show you a multitude of ways to wrap gifts, Japanese style.

11am. Demo.   SIlk Cocoon Jewellery. Multi coloured silk cocoons are used to produce beautiful and delicate pieces of jewellery.

12 noon. Demo.  Chigiri-e. USing Japanese papers we show you how to make perfect pieces of art for your walls and easy candle cuffs.

12.30 Class. Sashiko for beginners. One of the most popular sewing disciplines in Japanese culture.

1.15pm The  Art of Japanese Gift Wrapping. Using fabric we will show you a multitude of ways to wrap gifts, Japanese style.

2.45pm Demo. Silk Cocoon Jewellery. Multi coloured silk cocoons are used to produce beautiful and delicate pieces of jewellery.

3.30pm  Sashiko for beginners (demo only). One of the most popular sewing disciplines in Japanese culture.

An exciting free programme of talks and presentations on a variety of textile topics – no need to pre-book, just turn up and take a seat. The Lecture Theatre is situated in aisle F.

Creative Den Workshops

Pre-book your workshops in our Creative Den and guarantee a place!

The following Workshop Tickets for Stitching, Sewing & Hobbycrafts can be booked online, but any remaining tickets are available for sale from the Organisers’ Office, situated outside the hall entrance. You will need a show ticket to be able to take part in the Workshops.

Workshops last 60 minutes (unless stated otherwise) and tickets cost £8-15. Workshops are limited to 16 spaces.

Note: it is important to arrive at the Creative Den 5-minutes before the start of your workshop; this is located in aisle F.

EventCity is easily accessible by car. If traveling from the M60 take Junction 9 for the A5081 and follow signs for Barton Dock Road. Postcode: M17 8AS.

By Rail
Manchester Piccadilly - Bus service X50 or 250 from Piccadilly Gardens Bus Station descending at the EventCity bus stop. Manchester Victoria - Bus service 100 (every 12 minutes) or Service 110 (every 20 minutes) descending at The Trafford Centre bus station

EventCity will also be running an express EventCity Shuttle bus from the main bus stop at the Trafford Centre, dropping people off directly at EventCity's door
