Designed with our visitors in mind, our programme of workshops gives you the chance to develop and hone established or new skills.

You’ll be learning in small groups and a friendly environment.

Our experts will be on hand to share their skill and develop yours though a fantastic value workshop.

JAPANESE FLORAL CIRCLE

With Pat Archibald

Work with Pat’s latest oriental templates to create a delightful Japanese inspired circular floral design featuring acer leaves, gingko leaves and cherry blossoms. The workshop will cover Bondaweb appliqué, sashiko style stitching and foiling and gilding. If time allows Pat will finish the workshop by demonstrating a pretty beaded edging and give you with many other ideas to inspire you to try other designs. You will be able to start hand stitching your project in class ready to take home and finish. These templates will transform your work!

DISSOLVABLE FABRIC BOWL

Use dissolvable fabric, lots of thread and a sewing machine to create a lacy fabric, which can be shaped into a little bowl. Suitable for all levels.

CREATE A 3D WET FELTED VESSEL

With Bex Raven

Create a felted vessel using wet felting techniques. Starting from the wool fibres you will learn to manipulate them to form a freestanding vessel. If time permits you may be able to also decorate with threads. No previous felting experience needed. You will take away with you the materials to be able to recreate the technique at home with your own wool fibres.

ECO PRINT A SCARF WITH SCOTTISH LEAVES

With Elisabeth Viguie Culshaw from The Lansdowne House 

Learn how to create a beautiful and unique Botanical scarf using a natural Eco Printing technique and some Scottish leaves. During the class you will learn the basics of Eco Printing, and create a unique scarf using natural cloth, local leaves and a steaming process. During the steaming process of your scarf we will create a communal Eco-printed piece to be raffled between the participants at the end of each day.

STAR BURST BUNTING

Make your own beautiful, 10 panel stained glass bunting with added clear crystal beads. This workshop is designed for people wanting to work with Stained Glass as a hobby and no experience is necessary. We carefully support you through the process of cleaning, copper foiling and soldering your work. You will be able to hang your bunting either indoors or outside in the garden.
