We will bring you a selection of your favourite features, exhibitors and workshops with a focus on quality whilst ensuring we provide the space to enjoy your day safely.

At the show

Bex Raven

Bex works within the fields of craft, wellbeing and the environment to bring balance to both ourselves and the world. Starting with unique painted backgrounds, pieced together with vintage and dyed fabrics, she then secures the layers with a felting machine, followed by stitching and finally embellishing with found objects. 

Tina Francis

Hand stitch with a modern twist. Tina Francis brings fun, colour and design pizazz to stitch kits featuring bargello, tapestry needlepoint and canvas work. Author of the best selling book Modern Bargello.

Karl Macrae

Mixed media, design led, embroidery artist and teacher. Working with cotton thread, gold/silver/copper leaf, vintage papers, card and tissue paper.


Helen McKenna

Helen will be demonstrating how she creates her beautiful textiles at the show. Starting with unique painted backgrounds, pieced together with vintage and dyed fabrics, she then secures the layers with a felting machine, followed by stitching and finally embellished with found objects.

Cassandra Barron

Cass’s range of upcycled bookbinding workshops and accompanying kits share how to transform remnant materials into unique and usable books. Visit her stand to have a go and peruse her limited edition kits, which make for great personal projects and gifts.

Nudinits are the naughty knitted inhabitants of the village of Woolly Bush. Their creator Sarah Simi is at the show to launch the latest book, packed with knitting patterns for the characters and all manner of village fete fun!

BRAND NEW – A3 Memory Quilt Competition

Show off your quilting skills with our Memory Quilt Competition – Memory quilts can be made from Cherished items and pre-loved fabrics; they can also be a pictorial depiction of a person, place or occasion. Scottish Women’s Institute (SWI)

SWI is the biggest all female organisation in Scotland. It is designed to bring women together, with a vision to welcome every woman in Scotland to join. Its purpose is to build an inclusive community, to have fun and form friendships, to learn, to share and to socialise. From life skills to arts and crafts the SWI is proud of its heritage and its future vision.

The Family History Federation

Visit the Family History Federation stand for help and advice regarding everything family history. Watch a demonstration, pick up a leaflet/freebie and/or sign-up for our free monthly newsletter. As the UK’s leading family history charity, they’re here to help!

The Beadworkers Guild

The Beadworkers Guild is a registered charity dedicated to promoting and supporting the art of bead weaving. Open to Beadworkers and bead artists everywhere it provides various events, activities and publications to encourage knowledge sharing and the exchange of ideas.

The Lace Guild

The Lace Guild will display lace showing various styles of lacemaking. They work to keep their craft alive and to encourage new lace makers. They will have demonstrations and a practice pillow for the public, including younger visitors to “have a go” at lace making.

Scottish School of 3D Decoupage

Based at Brackenbrae House in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow. This award winning group of local ladies will be delighted to show you how to bring flat two dimensional paper images to life using only scissors, gift wrapping paper and glue. They say, they loved bringing this Wrendale Sheepdog to life, as he reminded them of their Covid hairdos during lockdown!

Getting There

SEC, Glasgow · G3 8YW

By Rail
Exhibition Centre is SEC’s own dedicated railway station allowing easy access from the city centre and the suburbs. Six trains an hour from Central Station (Platform 17) will bring you to Exhibition Centre station in a journey time of just three minutes.

By Bus

Buses can be accessed from George Square (near Queen Street Station) and Union Street (near Central Station). For timetable visit

By Foot

The Clyde Walkway runs right past the SEC. There are two footbridges which cross the Clydeside Express Way (dual carriageway connecting the west end to Glasgow city centre) at both the front and rear of the campus.

By Road

Leave the M8 at Junction 19 and follow the signs for the SEC. Entry is off Finnieston Street.

The SEC multi-storey car park is at 10 Stobcross Road, Glasgow, G3 8YW. Parking is also available at The Science Centre – 50 Pacific Quay, Glasgow, G51 1EA. Disabled visitors wanting to catch the buggy to The SEC will need to park at the SEC.
