The Stitching, Sewing & Hobbycrafts show arrives at the NEC for you to discover all the ideas, inspiration and crafting supplies you could ever dream of! Knitters, stitchers, hobbyists and crafters will be in their element with endless supplies, innovations, new product launches, demonstrations and workshops designed to encourage and inspire your creativity – there’s no better place to stock up and revel in creative craft inspiration!
Marking Time is the latest exhibition from Stitch in the Middle - Midland regional members of the Contemporary Quilt Group. Passing time marks our lives and environments in different ways; colour, texture and text give you Art Quilting at its best.
Two demonstrations running each day where several different projects will be seen through and techniques demonstrated; plus The Powertex Mannequin Challenge with a full sized seated mannequin. Participants will be invited to put on an apron and gloves and apply a piece of fabric onto the mannequin, The finished item will be photographed and featured in Powertex’s newsletter, blog and YouTube channel. Each participant will be given a badge and will have the opportunity to win a 30 x 30 cm original canvas as created by Tracey on Hochanda, delivered free of charge to any UK mainland address.

Workshops last 60 minutes and tickets cost £8.00 each. Any remaining tickets will be for sale in the Organisers’ Office in hall 12, priced at £8.00 per ticket.
Note: it is important to arrive at the Creative Den 5-minutes before the start. This is located in aisle K, close to the refreshment and seating area.

One stitch, five colours and one-hour is all you need to create a beautiful stitched weave patterned brooch – Suitable for beginners and experienced stitchers alike. Workshop will provide brooch finding, woollen yarn, needles and canvas.

In this workshop you will learn about the traditional art of Indian Block Printing, using hand carved Indian wooden printing blocks to print a cotton Tote Bag with a selection of bright and colourful fabric paints, a mixture of seed heads, leaves and flower designs. Not only will you take away your hand printed work of art but you will also have the confidence to go away with the skills to print your own fabrics and papers. Suitable for all abilities, whether you have printed before or not, it’s super fun, and an easy way to be creative!

In this workshop you will learn the Secret Garden, English patchwork technique, to create a pretty hand-stitched pincushion. This technique is derived from Cathedral Window patchwork, and can be incorporated into many other patchwork projects, such as bags, cushions and quilts. Some experience of hand stitching preferable. All materials provided, plus a money-off voucher for Pinflair Creative Crafts patchwork fabrics.

Glitter a cute fairy from a range of designer acetates. This can then be used for card making or home decorating. Easy, relaxing and great fun for children and adults alike. No need to book, just pop by the stand. £2 per person. Adults and children welcome.
Come and join Becka B and her team for exclusive paper-crafting, die-cutting and masking Make & Takes – plus a chance to try out Frisket – an amazing material that will transform your paper-crafting! At each session you’ll take home a complete project, ranging from cards to gift-tags! These are 20 minute session with no experience necessary, and sessions will rotate so why not check back and try them all!

Decopatchme.co.uk will be giving you Make & Take opportunities all through the show. If you haven't Decopatched before it's a really quick and easy way of decorating objects using their special papers and glue varnish medium. Working on almost any surface straight from the bottle you can produce really satisfying results in no time! There’s no need to book, just turn up and join in the fun!
A simple, but extremely effective traditional sewing craft from Japan. In 30 minutes you can learn all of the basics of Sashiko. Suitable for all ages and skills.
Experience POSCA pens and the uni-ball art & craft range with artist Ella Johnston. POSCA is ‘paint in a pen’ and can be used on almost any surface including; plastic, ceramic, wood, cork, fabric, card, paper, glass, metal and PVC. POSCA is a water based paint marker and non-toxic. At the end of the workshop session take home your unique glass creation. Classes are free but they appreciate a donation to their chosen charity. A great opportunity to try your hand at our Stained Glass Decoration workshop. Learn how to foil glass, assemble then solder the glass together. This workshop is designed for both beginners and people who want to spend an hour honing their glass skills! Lots of new designs to choose from.
Come and have a go at making this fabulous pendant with glass pearls and learn a new technique. They are so easy to make and look stylish and professional.
