Bead-making with Crafty Beggars

Join the Crafty Beggars for a 1 hour bead-making workshop – and learn how to create beautiful beads from magazine pages! Recycling gurus Julie Peasgood & Wendy Turner Webster will guide you through this fun and effective technique, and then show you how to use your new beads to make and finish a stunning bracelet. All materials are provided and it’s a skill that we guarantee you will want to make use of again and again!

Workshops run daily at 10:30, 13:00 and 14:00.

Are you a Fibre Fanatic? Learn how to make beautiful papers with rag pulp and colourful threads, fibres, textures, and snippets. Your papers will be suitable for hand/machine embroidery, book making, and construction activities. This is the perfect workshop for those who love the versatility of textiles.

90-minute workshop – cost £15.00

Make amazing paper with a literary theme! Letters, words, herbs and famous quotations will be incorporated into the paper to create unique pieces of work for writing, painting, craft and bookbinding projects. You’ll make an alphabet soup by mixing poetry, songs and metaphors into “rag” pulp from old books and recycled pulp fiction. This exciting course is led by a tutor who teaches at Book Festivals around the UK, so join him, and learn how literature, art and nature can be blended together into a paper best seller!

Come along, and have a go at crafting with polymer clay, Ange Smith will show how to make these fun ice cream cornet charms. The finished charms will be baked at the Guild’s stand and available for collection approximately an hour after the end of the workshop.
