The Creative Craft Show is a haven for knitting, cross stitch, paper crafting, jewellery & dressmaking and stitching enthusiasts, offering all the very latest supplies, ideas and innovations in the hobby world! You’ll find everything from kits, charts and patterns to fabrics, yarns, threads and buttons plus opportunities to glean advice from industry experts.

The Apocalypse Hits … Birmingham
Step forward in time to the world after the apocalypse – learn to dye fabric with plants and rust, harness the power of the sun to make stunning images on fabric and paper and create props and models using rusting, weathering and painting techniques. It may be end-times, but it’s not the end of the world for your wardrobe … on display will be a range of corsets, dresses, jackets and more using a range of techniques – from day-wear to wedding and costume plus for the first time, ICHF Events bring Rusty the IA van and Tesso the award-winning motorbike to the show! The Inventors Asylum team will be running a cyanotype Make & Take, a papercutting workshop in the Creative Den and a talk on embracing your inner Wabi Sabi in the lecture theatre.
Talks and Presentations
An exciting free programme of talks and presentations on a variety of textile topics – no need to pre-book, just turn up and take a seat.
The Lecture Theatre is situated at the end of aisle K.
Whether you entered, know someone who did or have just been amazed by the items on display – you won’t want to miss the Sew Your Style Competition Prize Giving – with huge prize packages up for grabs its going to be a very exciting hour!

Crafty Beggars Workshops
Join the Crafty Beggars for a 1 hour bead-making workshop – and learn how to create beautiful beads from magazine pages! Recycling gurus Julie Peasgood & Wendy Turner Webster will guide you through this fun and effective technique, and then show you how to use your new beads to make and finish a stunning bracelet. All materials are provided and it’s a skill that we guarantee you will want to make use of again and again!

Jill Clay from Festival of Japan donated striking wedding Kimono to Inkberrow Design Centre for City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in the Creative Industries students to rework into western-style wedding dresses. See the creations, compare with the photographic originals and see how the students have worked their magic!
The Vlieseline Challenge
A collection of outfits showcasing the versatility of Vilene/Vlieseline – it’s not only for stiffening collars and waistbands! Students of City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in the Creative Industries at Inkberrow Design Centre created a garments inspired by A Day at the Races and made in Vlieseline’s corporate colours of yellow, black and white.

There’s a wide range of creative crafts to try, with lots of help and encouragement from the experts.
Book at the show.
A simple, but extremely effective traditional sewing craft from Japan. In 30 minutes you can learn all of the basics of Sashiko. Suitable for all ages and skills.
Make a mini felt landscape picture with Andrea Coleman of Artfelt. You will learn how easy it is to create a lovely felt picture, using wet felting techniques. Workshops will cost £5 (redeemable against a kit purchase at the show) and the two sessions will take place every day, starting 10.00am and 2.30pm. Places will be limited.
Join Lesley Oman & Tallie Clewley as they showcase cardmaking techniques using Heffy Doodle stamps, dies & stencils. Get stuck in by creating your own tag, bookmark or card featuring these cute, easy to colour images and the pun-tastic sentiments that make Heffy Doodle a brand that you will adore.
Create your very own personalised hanging decoration! Choose between a heart or star ceramic decorations and then choose from one of the fabulous designs. All of the materials and guidance provided to create your very own, personalised hanging decoration to take home. Make & Take available all day and booking is not required. Cost £5 per person. Daisy Makes can’t wait to share their craft passion with you!
